| Description: | Kenya Diaspora Development Collaborative looking for a logo to depict its core vision and mission. Kenya Diaspora Development Collaborative offers Kenyan Diaspora members a rallying point for mutual self advancement through cooperative ventures aimed at enhancing sustainable economic development in Kenya. The Kenyan Diaspora can be described as a group that has gradually constituted itself after a protracted period of individual emigrations, mostly between 1990 and 2010. The majority of the members of Kenya Diaspora Development Collaborative are therefore first generation immigrants to North America, Europe, Middle East Australia/Asia. The majority of them are professionally trained (over 80 percent have at least an undergraduate degree). The logo should thus depict:1. An effort of these scattered individuals’ collective commitment to the maintenance or restoration of their original homeland and to its safety and prosperity. 2. Cooperation among members of the Kenya Diaspora to advance their own economic interests.3. | Design Goals: | The central idea is that these scattered emigres are reaching back to help heal the motherland. The national colors are as in the flag: green, black, red and white. Attention should be made on the quality of the colors--deep green, glossy red, glistering back and white. Otherwise the designer can try any nice ideas that come to mind. The full name Kenya Diaspora Development Collaborative or abbreviation KDDC should be inscribed somewhere on the logo. The lettering should be glittering gold like in Alpha Romeo logo . Without restricting artistic creativity, the alpha romeo logo is a good model to start with. |

The central idea is that the emigres are reaching back to help heal their motherland. Hows can we depict the emigres? Probably as business executives? How do they reach out? Alfa Romeo logo is quite intriguing. It can guide and does not have to be taken literally. We don't have to have a circular logo--we just want an appealing logo.
Please note how the Alpha romeo logo--inside is divided into two--on the left-is the red cross and on the right the green snake. Could we have kind of a balancing too--with motherland represented by the colors/flag etc (and it doesn't have to be the map/flag as whole--just depictions), and on the other hand--the Diaspora? The logo should be a complete message so that even without writing Kenya Diaspora Development Collaborative, someone looking can deduce what it may mean.

Development--This is mainly economic development through innovation--as we know cutting edge innovation is now high tech
Collaborative--this depicted by symbols of cooperation, collaboration, joint venture etc
So far, I like #8 because it has tried to get out of the box--the edge is not a ring and the color choices are cool.. #6 stands out because the green symbol of collaboration (nice try). 1 to 5 are essentially the same thing--map/flag inside a circle. For #3 and #4--I like the color choices
