The basic idea of this design is, how to represent "G" as an icon that conveys an "energy" and "power".
So I bring this idea, energy and power are often symbolized as a flash of lightning or thunder,...

Now, why not to combine both of them as a strong icon that can stand by itself with or without a text beside it,... so we can have a lot of possible usage of any media.
