Description: | The project is to develop a FOLDING LEAFLET with 6 sides, each side 16.5cm h by 10cm w. Each side has specified content that will be in the attached word doc. The flyer should be easy to read, a good mix of text and imagery, and use all brand colours and fonts, and we have provided a vectorised logo for use in the project. I want the paragraphs of written content to flow easily when the user reads them, so any design principles that can be used to enhance this would be great - so for example, drawn on arrows pointing from the bottom of one heading to the next to lead the customer's eye along the copy, or even a sort of timeline that links the headings, showing progressions from the opening heading to the closing one. Fonts: Proxima Nova in light for regular text, black for headings and semi-bold for emphasis. Please note the following BIG design requirements! Side 1: 3 "headlines" as though printed directly from the news, will be used as graphics - with a logo for the BBC, and two Australian papers (The Sydney Morning Herald (SMH) and the Daily Telegraph) attached to the headlines to show their legitimacy. Side 4 and 5: big red "CALL TO ACTION!" box with contact details - should be in CYMK 0, 100, 100, 0 as this is a brand colour. Side 3 and 5 should have the attached logo appear on the bottom of the "page". The copy to be used is below: IMAGES WILL BE SUPPLIED BY US (CONTEST ORGANISERS)
Front cover – picture of fire house burned with Is your home safe? Mail piece will be in red envelope addressed to owner and include a gift voucher for $40 SIDE 1 IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU. UPGRADE YOUR FIRE SAFETY PLAN NOW. HEADLINE 1: SMOKE ALARMS ‘FAIL TO WAKE CHILDREN’ – BBC Smoke alarms save lives, but only if the alarm can wake you. Studies have shown not all smoke alarms actually wake children. HEADLINE 2: EXPERTS CALL FOR DODGY SMOKE ALARMS TO BE BANNED IN AUSTRALIA – DAILY TELEGRAPH Your family deserves peace of mind. But with dodgy smoke alarms in homes all over Sydney, your home and family may be in danger HEADLINE 3: HOUSE FIRES ON THE RISE ACROSS NSW - SMH NSW law requires one smoke alarm on every floor of a house, and outside all sleeping areas. There’s a good reason for that - house fires are on the rise across NSW so you must do everything you can to protect yourself and your family. IN SHORT: HAVING ANY OLD SMOKE ALARM IN YOUR HOME DOES NOT NECESSARILY PROTECT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. AN OLD OR OUTDATED SMOKE ALARM IS NOT ENOUGH.
SIDE 2 Is Your Smoke Alarm Safe? How long ago did you buy your home smoke alarm? 2 years ago? 5 years? Even longer? This could pose a risk to your home. Like mobile phones, computers, and all modern technology, the designs for smoke alarms have accelerated in efficiency, safety, and reliability in lightyears since you last upgraded. Not only are older smoke alarms unreliable – with the BBC finding many fail to wake up children – they’re also less effective at smoke detection, relying on large amounts of smoke before triggering an alarm. So how can you best protect your family? Read on (use arrow to point to next heading)
