Summary:

Logo design for e-commerce online shop for men. The website will be conducting business in Taiwan. Company name (mancave.com) in Taiwanese is “型男車庫” - literarily translates to "stylish mens' garage"
Description:

Currently this shop (mancave.com.tw) carries motor oil, oil filter, replacement auto/motorcycle parts. Although it sells parts now, it is highly likely to expand business into mens cloth, accessories, watches,...etc., in the near future. Please keep this in mind when designing.

It is not selling the products to men, its selling a life-style, or life-styles to them through an elegant, modern, and stylish web store (not yet available)
Design Goals:

I am open to all designs and will promptly add my feedbacks to all designs submitted. This said, I do have a design in mind, described below in bullets

  • it starts with "lion king" logo. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lion_King_(musical) I like the etching style of the lion
  • in stead of lion, there will be a Jaguar (as the "man" in mancave)(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar), in this post (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar#/media/File:Junior-Jaguar-Belize-Zoo.jpg)
  • this Jaguar is sitting handsomely on a piece of upward incline rock in front of an (abstract) "cave" (google lion king images you will find many)
  • company name (mancave) will be placed in a place such that the Chinese equivalent (型男車庫) can be swapped in while keeping the same logo style. (you can have two versions, one in English, one in Chinese)
  • tough but elegant at the same time (think David Beckham wearing Tom Ford suit)
  • color: use jaguar color palette (gold/black). calm, manly, and smart. lion king muscial logo is a good start. Other color palettes suit philosophy welcome.
Design No-Gos:

target customers are male 18 - 58 yrs old, so please no cartoon.

no cars/motorcycles/garages/gears/tools symbol. Use Jaguar, please.

Opt for simple than complex design (again think lion king musical logo)

feedback for #91:
1. wider spread - a bit more space between letters
2. "man" and "ave" - use plain color with a bit thicker outline. (no jaguar texture on the letters)
3. try capital letter variation

#75 and #76, the mancave font can be wider and shorter with a wider spread. I think it looks bolder and tougher that way. thanks.

#75 and #76, liked the Jaguar, not so much that the Jaguar is confined inside the abstract "cave". The Jaguar should be sitting/posing in front of the cave, not inside. Please kindly iterate on them.

Please read carefully at "Wants". I like lion king musical's logo much about its clean and abstract lion design, I very much love to have a clean and abstract "jaguar" (for man) and a "cave". Where is the cave my dearest designers? Please draw your own Jaguar (not Tiger, not lion) instead of c&p jaguar from somewhere else. (#6?) Thank you in advance for your diligent work!
