Design Brief

Contest title: Moderra logo design
Sub title: Eco-Residential development project
Category: Logo Design

Brand Name:

Moderra

Summary:

Luxury Eco-Residential development project in Guatemala. We are building a high-end residential community set amongst 1000 hectares land that is at the base of an extinct volcano. The property begins at 3000 feet '900m' of elevation and climbs all the way up to the summit at over 12,000 feet '3250m'. At lower elevations, it is very warm and then transitions through tropical rainforest, to cloud forest to a very a chilly summit. The property was once an old coffee farm that was abandoned years ago. We are creating a nature reserve in the upper areas that include huge trees and lots of wildlife and are carefully building an eco-luxury community for upper-end Guatemalan families where the old coffee farm once was.

Description:

The marketing concept is a blend between a Four Seasons Resort and an active community that is more akin to the Nike ad campaigns with young, active, people living a healthy lifestyle outdoors.

There will be over 50km of world-class mountain biking trails; a first-rate tennis club with 11 courts and different surfaces, a "boutique" water park with private villas surrounding it; many miles of hiking & running trails throughout.

The views from the property are spectacular- you can see 4 nearby volcanoes plus a view to the Pacific Ocean in the distance on a clear day. You also see the entire coastal plain and all the while are surrounded by natural beauty of the trees, plants & tropical flowers that abound on the site.

The project will have residential lots where people can build their own homes but will also have areas where we build the following products for sale: Mountain cabins; tennis villas; aqua/golf villas; eco-villas (carefully built alongside ecologically sensitive areas).

We are building a small residential resort-like city with NO hotel since we want it to be very exclusive and only for the use of property owners.

For an idea of the "feel" that the project will have, check out the websites for the Four Seasons hotels & residences.

Design Goals:

Would like colors but would still want the logo to work in black & white (if needed). Logo must contain a graphic symbol with the text Moderra. Try both upper-case and init-caps for Moderra.

Design No-Gos: not sure

#20 & #22, I absolutely like it, but commercial buildings might not work. Try to use residential symbols.

I dont like #14, #15, #16, #17, #23 and #24. Please try other.

Like #25 alot. can you somehow integrate residential development?

Time is too short. I am looking for the unique identity.

thanks.

drope #13 is good, but it isnt shows that it is a residential development project. From #9 to #11 spiderdesign, I like the idea of circles to display the letter 'M' for moderra as well as it shows that it is a development project. Nice thanks.

ArtOSX #8, it doesnt seem to be fit in this category. #7 drope again, its really nice, it shows the ecology & luxury at the same time but it doesnt show the development and residential.

#5 drope, is good. better font used now. thanks.
